Southeast Homeschool Expo Homeschool Convention: July 28 - 29, 2023

Soraya had a booth at the convention hall and exhibited her books. She had a special time talking with parents and their children about her books and the importance of reading. She also presented a workshop for approximately 50 parents and other home educators on raising children who love to read. Parents continue to be impacted by her workshops and express appreciation.
Home Educators Association of Virginia (HEAV) Homeschool Convention: June 8 - 10, 2023

Soraya was an exhibitor at the HEAV Homeschool Convention in June. Many parents and grandparents were introduced to her books and asked questions about them and all that the foundation is doing to promote literacy. She discussed the importance of reading in a child's life and how her books teach the historical truth about these holidays.
Great Homeschool Convention: April 13-15, 2023

Soraya had a booth in the convention hall and was able to interact with many homeschool parents, educators, and children, which she loves to do. She also presented a workshop titled “12 Steps to Raising Children Who Love to Read – The Foundation for Success” with over 50 parents in attendance.

Great Homeschool Convention: April 13-15, 2022

Soraya had a booth in the convention hall and was able to interact with lots of homeschool parents and educators as she sold her books.
Bring your children to meet Soraya and see her books. She loves speaking with parents and children and making new friends. She welcomes the opportunity to shake your hand, pose for a photo, and autograph books for you.
Night to Shine: February 7, 2020, 7pm

As the Stars of the Sky Foundation is supporting the Night to Shine & Soraya is volunteering with hundreds of others as part of Waterfront Church DC to bring a special prom night for children 14+ with disabilities. This event is being hosted by over 300 churches all over the US.

Hurricane Irma & Maria: September, 2017
Hurricanes Irma & Maria hit the Virgin Islands in September, 2017 causing widespread devastation. Many people lost their homes. Adults and children suffered greatly. Soraya often read to children at the shelter on St. Thomas. The islands are slowly recovering.
